You’ve heard it a hundred times, and here it is again: EXFOLIATE. Get those old skin cells off your face. I highly recommend an exfoliating mask rather than a manual exfoliant during this time, as it exfoliates your skin by the correct amount, rather than over-scrubbing which damages your skin. Jurlique have a fantastic new Fruit Enzyme Exfoliant that I use and love to pieces. Another product, one which you can use daily, is Miessence Probiotic Skin Brightener. You want to look for products that contain ingredients such as papaya extract, lactic and malic acids, pineapple extract, and fermented grains.
Start re-hydrating your face. I suggest an oil for night, like bod Morroccan Rose Face Oil. It will feed your skin essential fatty acids, soothe it, repair sun- damaged skin, and help with any imbalances. If you want to encourage cell turnover as well, then A’kin Cellular Radiance Serum may be for you, which is loaded with pomegranate and seabuckthorn to help visibly reduce pigmentation.
During the day keep your “face” to a minimum. Remember that we are trying to acclimatize our skin into the new season, so we must lessen any environmental stressors. Stick to a tinted moisturizer (with an SPF) like Mukti Tinted Moisturiser, or some barely there mineral foundation (Musq have a great range). Think zen and go minimal! Keep it fresh and simple.
This is your skin’s down time. When you feel the season has completely changed over, give your skin a week to adjust, then you may begin increasing product usage on your face.
